Welcome to our Ranch !

The name "Hunters" was selected after much thought, based on our two main passions:  bird hunting and breeding/training sport horses.  Hence - "HUNTERS".

We share this wonderful place by offering a Bed and Breakfast style of service during certain times of the year.

This is a simple place and we don't want to take it too seriously so that it becomes a business, rather than a way to share our enjoyment of Northwest Kansas.

The surrounds are essentially rolling prairie with only two other places within eyesight.  George Custer maintained a camp just 2 miles north on the Big Timber Creek.  We find Indian artifacts  frequently, and marvel at how little this part of the world has changed. The winters are harsh, the summers hot - spring and fall are wonderful.  Winter wheat, sunflowers and edible beans comprise the local crops with some dryland corn.  "Hunters" today is  mostly pasture land.  Mule deer, whitetail deer, coyotes and bobcats are seen frequently hanging around.  The prairie chicken is making a comeback with increasing flocks in the grasslands.  Pheasants, quail and waterfowl are found nearby.
