History
The ground upon which our house stands, here in NW Kansas, was homesteaded in 1887.  Like many early places, it had several owners as people traded ground to get what they wanted.  The Burr family acquired the property in 1901 and built a small 'shotgun' home.  The little house was added onto in the early 1940's by building another house of a different style and joining the two places together.  This new structure was two story, four bedrooms, living room dining room and kitchen. In 1955 an indoor bathroom was added.  The Burr Family retained title to the place until 2002 when we purchased it.  For all intents and purposes, the house was abandoned some years prior to our ownership.  Constantly in the process of renovation, it is now a comfortable place to live.
